What is Laksa?

Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup from the Peranakan cuisine, which is a fusion of Chinese and Malay culinary traditions. While many variations exist across Southeast Asia, Penang Laksa, or Asam Laksa, is particularly renowned for its rich, sour, and spicy fish-based broth, typically made with mackerel. It's infused with aromatic herbs like ginger flower (bunga kantan), mint, and lemongrass, and served with thick rice noodles, fresh vegetables, and often a dollop of pungent shrimp paste (hae ko) for an extra kick. It's a truly unforgettable taste of Malaysia!

Gameplay

"Authentic Laksa Cafe" takes you through three exciting levels, each with its own unique challenge, all leading to your goal of becoming a master Laksa chef!

Level 1: Ingredient Hunt (Platformer)

In the first level, you'll dive into a colorful platformer world. Your mission is to collect all the essential Laksa ingredients scattered across the landscape.

- Controls: Use WASD keys or the Arrow Keys to move your character.

- Objective: Collect all 7 required Laksa ingredients to proceed. Keep an eye out for:

  - Soup

  - Noodles

  - Shredded Lettuce

  - Sliced Onion

  - Chili

  - Mint Leaves

  - Pineapple Chunks

Level 2: The Ingredient Gauntlet (Runway)

Once you've gathered your initial ingredients, the challenge intensifies! In this level, you'll navigate a dynamic runway, needing to quickly identify and collect the right items.

- Controls: Use the Left and Right Arrow Keys or A and D keys to move your character sideways.

- Objective: Collect the correct ingredients as they come towards you.

  - Collecting the correct ingredient adds 1 to your score.

  - Collecting an incorrect ingredient deducts 1 from your score.

- Goal: Reach a score of 20 to successfully complete this level and prove your ingredient knowledge!

Level 3: Laksa Cafe Rush (Time Challenge)

Congratulations! You've collected enough ingredients to open your very own Laksa Cafe. Now it's time to put your culinary skills to the test in a fast-paced cooking challenge!

- Objective: Make as many bowls of Laksa as you can in one minute to earn money.

- Gameplay: Customers will place orders, and you'll need to quickly click on the correct ingredients to assemble the Laksa bowls. The faster and more accurately you work, the more money you'll earn!
